Exercise – how much, how often, how hard??

You should try and achieve 30 mins of (cumulative) physical activity per day of moderate intensity on all days definitely offers benefits x 7 Days = 210 MINUTES/WEEK

This is a summary of the type and extent of exercise recommended each day:

  • This should include 75mins vigorous intensity/week, and

  • 30 mins may be 3 x 10 min periods

  • Moderate intensity (with vigorous bouts) is better

  • Moderate Exercise = able to speak a full sentence – About 70% maximum heart rate (This may depend on medication)

  • Vigorous Exercise = Not able to chat during efforts –About 80% maximum heart rate
